Moselle Romance - Arosa River Cruise

Day One

Mid morning HOME PICK UP's as we meet our coach and then make our way to Hull for our overnight sailing to Rotterdam.
Once on board relax in one of the many lounges or bars, enjoy dinner* in the Buffet or a la carte restaurant, be entertained in the show lounge, catch a movie in the Cinema or have a flutter in the casino - the choice is yours.
Once its time for bed head for your en-suite inside cabin with Twin beds and sleep as you sail through the night Cabin upgrades subject to availability and supplements

Day Two

We awake in Holland and enjoy our included breakfast before disembarking and making our way into Germany and to the Rhine Valley where we board Arosa Silva in Cologne for our 7 night All Inclusive Cruise. We set sail at 5pm

Day Three

This morning we arrive into Treis-Karden - twin towns on the banks of the Moselle river about 30 km west of Koblenz. Highlights to explore are Eltz Castle, founded around 1000 AD and still lived in by one of the three branches of the Eltz family. Explore the treasure vault, showcasing medieval weaponry and a number of impressive pieces of golden artworks and jewellery. Treis-Karden is a treat for fans of traditional architecture, with numerous half-timbered houses from the past century as well as St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish Church, built in 1824 by Johann Claudius von Lassaulx. We set sail again at 4pm

Day Four

As we awake we realise we have arrive intod Bernkastel-Kues. Experience the unforgettable atmosphere of a picturesque old town full of history and culture. Enjoy award-winning wines from well-known sites - whether in one of the cosy wine bars, in a rustic wine tavern during a wine-tasting session with a winemaker, or during a tour of the steep vineyard slopes. We have included a walking tour of Bernkastel-Kues today, followed by a speciality dinner on board in the evening.. We set sail once again at 10pm

Day Five

This morning we arrive into Mehring, with the Roman City of Trier just a short distance away. The city boasts many churches, castles and palaces, plus a wealth of historic monuments - with UNESCO World Heritage status. Enjoy your time in the city, explore the Moselle valley and learn about the history of Rhineland-Palatinate. And as another lovely day draws to a close, you can look forward to the next picturesque port of call.

Day Six

We enjoy the morning sailing before arriving into Zell around 1pm. The 2000 year old wine town of Zell is known for viticulture and particularly the particularly the Zeller Schwarze Katz Riesling wines that depict a cat who leapt upon a barrel to dissuade a merchant from buying the wine from the winemaker. The wine is crisp and fruity, with hints of citrus, green apple and melon. You can visit a vineyard and of course taste the exceptional wine. There is even a theme trail through various vineyards.
In addition to wine, Zell offers a lovely walk along old vineyard walls to the Collis Tower, which looms over the town. The walk is worth it as you are rewarded with a breathtaking view over the valley and the wine-growing landscape. In the town, observe impressive buildings, winding alleys and picturesque town centre.

Day Seven

Departing Zell at breakfast, we sail through beautiful scenery to Cochem. Even though it is Germany's second-smallest district administrative centre, Cochem can look back on a long history, witnessed by its majestic Imperial Castle and the ruins of the Winneburg, each of which overlooks the town from its own small hill. Cochem is also home to the Pestkapelle (Plague Chapel) and the Kapelle zu den drei Kreuzen (Chapel of the Three Crosses). While these two places of worship are by no means huge, their understated elegance and beautiful location make them well worth a visit.

Day Eight

Sail on the Moselle arriving at Koblenz at lunchtime, Koblenz is where the Rhone & Moselle Rivers meet and offers a history dating back over 2,000 years, making it one of Germany's oldest cities - and one of its most picturesque, with a wealth of sights and cultural attractions. Marvel at Koblenz's palaces, stately homes, grand townhouses, narrow lanes and romantic corners. And watch as our A-ROSA ship sails close to the famous Deutsches Eck headland. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening as we sail overnight to Cologne.

Day Nine

We arrive into Cologne this morning, disembark and then we journey back to the Netherlands and to Rotterdam for our overnight sailing back to Hull. All facilities and cabin details as per your outward journey

Day Ten

Arriving back into Hull this morning, we enjoy breakfast before re-joining our coach for the short journey back to the North West, arriving back around lunchtime.
