The Rhine River connects the spectacular landscapes, picturesque medieval towns and lush wine valleys of Germany’s Black Forest, France’s Alsace and Switzerland’s city of Basel. This amazing new holiday showcases the medieval town of Freiburg, the stunning town of Colmar known as ‘little Venice’ in the Alsace and city of Triberg. We also soak up the scenery on a scenic lake cruise and enjoy a day in the Swiss city of Basel followed by a cream tea in an English Rose Garden!

Day One

It's an early morning start today as we head down to Dover to catch the ferry to Dunkirk, we then continue to overnight hotel in Belgium

Day Two

Fro Belgium we head into Germany arriving at our hotel in the Black Forest in time to settle in before dinner

Day Three

Today our knowledgeable guide will meet us and take us for a fascinating 90-minute guided walking tour of the medieval city of Freiburg. With free time for the rest of the day, we can continue to explore the city from the medieval cobblestone market square and beautiful Romanesque Münster topped with an elegant spire, plus brightly painted half-timbered houses, historic breweries and the walled medieval old town. We then return to our hotel this afternoon for a mouthwatering wine and cheese tasting experience.

Day Four

Today, we travel to the medieval city of Colmar, a picture-perfect rural town famous for its colourful half-timbered merchant houses, canals and spectacular floral displays, and known as the region’s capital of delicious Alsation wines. We have a full day here which includes a guided tour with our own individual headsets aboard the Little White Train. Afterwards, stroll through the town’s protected area to see its incredible heritage, from the Middle Ages to the 18th century.
NB: This day will require a certain amount of walking as coaches cannot enter the old town of Colmar.

Day Five

This morning, we travel to Titisee situated on the north shore of the beautiful Lake Titisee for a 25 minute circular cruise. After soaking up the stunning lakeland scenery by water, we have free time in the pretty lakeside town of Titisee for lunch and to pick up a few souvenirs before departing c1330 for the medieval city of Triberg. We have free time in the city, famous for its traditional wood carvings and cuckoo clock. Discover the pretty Triberg Waterfalls before we return to our hotel.

Day Six

This morning we head to the lovely city of Basel overlooking the River Rhine. Some of the must-see places of interest include the Old Town with its historic 15th century buildings, Middle Bridge, the Romantic and Gothic styled Basler Münster. In the afternoon we visit the unique English Rose Garden of Landhaus Ettenbühl together with a cream tea.

Day Seven

After breakfastthis morning it's Auf Wiedersehen to Germany as we travel to Rotterdam for our evening sailing back to Hull. Lower Bed Cabins are included along with dinner & breakfast on board and you can use all of the Ships facilities as you sail the night away.

Day Eight

Arriving into Hull this morning we enjoy breakfast on board before disembarking and making our way beck to the north West arriving around lunchtime
