Day One
We make the most of our first day and head straight to Llangollen Wharf, where our Horse drawn Canal Boat will we waiting to take us along one of the most beautiful canals in Britain. Experience for yourself the pace of life in "the olden days", and admire the strength of the gorgeous horses as they easily pull your boat through the water. From one nostalgic mode of transport to another as we transfer to the Llangollen Steam Railway and enjoy a wonderful journey following the River Dee through 10 miles of the Dee Valley to the end of the line at Corwen. We then make our way to our hotel.
EMDay Two
Heading South along the border today and popping into Wales for a morning visit to the Market Town of Welshpool and then onward into Mid Wales and the lovely Spa town of Llandrindod Wells.
B, EMDay Three
This morning we visit historic Much Wenlock a quintessentially English town, off the beaten track and the birthplace of William Penny Brookes, the inspiration for the modern Olympic Movement. From here we travel via Bridgnorth to Bewdley, an attractive Georgian town nestled on the River Severn, you'll find an attractive shopping and riverside area with a range of pubs, restaurants, cafes and even its own micro-brewery.
B, EMDay Four
Today's first visit is the lovely border town of Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town and an architectural gem. The historic town centre and the 11th century Castle are situated on a cliff above the River Teme and are surrounded by the beautiful countryside of south Shropshire and the Welsh Marches. Leaving early afternoon, we travel into Shrewsbury and enjoy a lovely sail along the River Severn.
B, EMDay Five
We make the most of our day today, firstly we have a wonderful drive over the Horseshoe Pass stopping off to enjoy the views from the Ponderosa Café. We'll then have an afternoon stop off in Chester before getting back to the North West for 4.30pm
